I can understand that sometimes it can be scary to look for photographers or even photographers trying to start somewhere, hence this shared framework is to promote safe, respectful and rewarding cosplay-photography sessions.
Disclaimer: This is only a general guideline; please feel free to adjust based on your situation/arrangement.
Discuss the brief clearly. State your character, setting, props, preferred poses, shot list and any editing style you expect. Photographers outline their approach, turnaround time and cost.
Set the date, time and length. Fix a start and finish window that suits both parties; arrive ten minutes early.
Choose a suitable location. Confirm whether the venue needs permission, an entrance fee or a public‐space permit. If either party feels uneasy about the venue, propose an alternative.
Clarify transport and expenses. Decide who covers travel, parking or location fees. Note extra costs in writing so nobody feels surprised.
Try to use email, WhatsApp or Instagram DMs in writing, verbal agreements fade.
Reply within a reasonable amount of time to questions or adjustments. Silence breeds confusion.
Update each other if delays, illness or venue issues arise.
Ask before touching costumes, props or the cosplayer. Adjust only with permission.
Agree on pose comfort levels. Photographers suggest ideas; cosplayers choose what feels right.
Guard personal data. Treat phone numbers, real names and unedited images as confidential unless both approve sharing.
No harassment or inappropriate remarks. Maintain a professional tone, on and off camera.
With minors (under 18): CoserConnectto do not sanction any photographer or cosplayer who are under 18. Please do your due diligence whenever engaging with a Cosplayer/Photographer.
Agree on the site's suitability for a shoot. Look for hazards—uneven ground, poor lighting, crowds.
Pack essentials. Bring water, snacks, safety pins, tape, a small first-aid kit and weather protection.
Use a spotter when needed. A friend can hold reflectors, guard bags or watch for passers-by.
Stop immediately if anyone feels unsafe. Move to a public area, call for help or end the shoot.
Provide finished edits within the agreed-upon timeframe
Share files in agreed resolution—full-size for printing, web-size for social media.
Credit fairly. Cosplayers tag photographers on posts. Photographers tag cosplayers if they share images.
Request further edits politely. Minor tweaks are fine; extensive changes may require further discussion and agreed upon terms.
Settle any agreed fees in cash or by bank transfer on the day, or by the deadline in writing.
If you trade time for prints, outline exactly how many edited files or prints the cosplayer receives.
Photographers may ask for a small deposit to secure busy dates; communicate refund terms.
Leave honest, constructive feedback on CoserConnectMY once you wrap up.
If problems arise—lateness, non-delivery, unprofessional conduct—speak directly first. Remain calm and factual.
If direct discussion fails, contact coserconnectto@gmail.com with screenshots or evidence. In serious allegations/cases, we will remove a profile from the site.
CoserConnectto strongly reject any individuals who engage in harassment, hate speech, stalking, non-consensual image sharing, sexual misconduct or any activity that endangers another person. Report such behaviour to the relevant authorities or submit a complaint to us.
Remember: We build this community on creativity, courtesy and trust. Follow these guidelines and every shoot will become the start of a lasting, positive collaboration.
